Helen Rae at Tierra Del Sol Gallery
Tierra del Sol is a nonprofit that empowers people with developmental disabilities through workforce, career, and arts development. Their Chinatown gallery outpost specifically features artists who work in the center’s art studio. Currently on view is a new exhibition of colored pencil drawings by the artist Helen Rae. The drawings, which take fashion ads as their source material, are masterfully composed. Tonmoy Khan at Tierra del Sol
Flora, fauna, and video games coalesce to form Tonmoy Khan’s carefully crafted universe. In Everything, the multimedia artist’s first solo exhibition with Tierra del Sol, Khan employs just what the title suggests— a little bit of everything. Watercolors, oil pastels, markers, and pencil, among other materials, come together on paper in scenes that range from serene still lifes to chaotic illustrations of the cosmos.
