UCSB Arts and Lectures presents  Canada’s Cirque FLIP Fabrique, February 5th at Santa Barbara’s Granada Theatre. The visually stunning troupe offers a refreshing view of contemporary circus, challenging gender roles with powerful women, graceful men and every permutation in between, while performing with breathtaking artistry and athleticism. Set to an original score by beatmaker Millimetric, this performance of Muse is best for ages eight and up.

UCSB Arts & Lectures presents Kodo, February 10th at The Granada Theatre. In the new production Tsuzumi, Kodo looks back at its impressive 40-year history and forward to the next chapter of breathtaking performance. Rigorously trained on the rugged, windswept island of Sado in the Sea of Japan, the soul-stirring taiko drummers bring a youthful joy to their unstoppably energetic, intricately designed and meticulously choreographed displays.

UCSB Arts & Lectures presents France’s Ballet Preljocaj in Swan Lake, February 25th and 26th at The Granada Theatre. Tackling the Mount Everest of the ballet world, Preljocaj's Swan Lake combines Tchaikovsky’s musical masterpiece with new arrangements in a timeless tale of love, betrayal, and seduction reinvented into a modern ecological tragedy. With 26 dancers, this beautiful tribute takes flight as an ingenious adaptation.
