Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum 2018 Summer Season
June 2, 2018 • 8:00 pm PDT
The summer season of five mainstage productions kicks off on June 2 with Coriolanus, William Shakespeare’s searing tragedy about a leader who has nothing but contempt for the common people. Also on the mainstage, Opening June 3: Theatricum’s signature production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Opening June 16: The Crucible, Arthur Miller’s timeless — and timely — tale of truth on trial; Opening June 30: Enid Bagnold’s delightful classic, The Chalk Garden, starring members of the Geer family; Opening July 28: Haiti, William DuBois’ historical drama, written in 1938 for the Federal Theatre Project, about the overthrow of the colonial Haitian government by Toussaint L’Ouverture. All mainstage productions perform in repertory through Sept. 30 at Theatricum’s spectacular outdoor venue in the heart of Topanga — check online or call for a performance schedule. Other summer programming includes family programming such as Creative PlayGround, Peter Alsop’s Kids Koncerts and a family Barn Dance on the 4th of July; the annual Under the Oaks salon series on Friday nights in September; comedy improv from Off the Grid; The Woody Guthrie Story on Oct. 6; Inara George and Friends in concert on Oct. 7; Theatricum BOO-tanicum on Oct. 27; and more. Patrons are welcome to arrive early and picnic before a performance.
