Legendary Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré is often referred to as “The Hendrix of the Sahara.” His latest album, Les Racines — meaning “the roots” — reconnects him with traditional Songhai music of northern Mali. Joined by indie artist Alex Siegel, Vieux is scheduled to play at the Lodge Room on May 7th after much anticipation.
