Film Independent: The New Wave

October 18, 2019 - October 20, 2019

(All times are in PDT)

KCRW is bringing the party to the MOCA Geffen on Saturday night, October 19, from 6-10pm. Get ready to dance with DJ sets from KCRW’s own Aaron Byrd and Novena Carmel. This event will also feature food trucks, tasty libations, fun vendors and more.

KCRW and Film Independent present The New Wave, a celebration of the spirit of change that is driving the transformation of cinema and global culture. The New Wave is a showcase of films, conversations and performances from cultural changemakers. Storytellers, interdisciplinary artists, community and industry leaders will come together from October 18 – 20 at MOCA Grand and MOCA Geffen to share their inspiring, dynamic and bold visions of inclusion, independence and innovation. Click here for more information.

Reserve your spot for Screenings, Keynotes, Conversations and Panels  here.
Limited space is available.

We’ve got plenty more coming next week as well, when we’ll be announcing additional screenings, KCRW music programming and community events.

The New Wave will be located at MOCA Grand Avenue (250 South Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012) and The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (152 North Central Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012) and is free to the public.

Film Independent aims to champion creative independence in visual storytelling and support a community of artists who embody diversity, innovation and uniqueness of vision. They help filmmakers make movies, build an audience for their projects and work to diversify the film industry. With over 250 annual screenings and events, Film Independent provides access to a network of like-minded artists who are driving creativity in the film industry.
