The Edge of Democracy

The 2019 IDA Documentary Screening Series brings this year’s most acclaimed documentaries to industry insiders and film lovers as a series of curated film screenings through the fall season! Join us for a free screening of ‘Edge of Democracy’ on Tuesday 10/29 at the Landmark Theater at 7:30PM.

A cautionary tale for these times of democracy in crisis, the personal and political fuse in ‘Edge of Democracy’ to explore one of the most dramatic periods in Brazilian history. Combining unprecedented access to leaders past and present, including Presidents Dilma Rousseff and Lula da Silva, with accounts of her own family’s complex past, filmmaker Petra Costa (‘ELENA’) witnesses their rise and fall and the tragically polarized nation that remains.

The free screening will be followed by a moderated post-film conversation with Director Petra Costa.
