The Whitbread Round the World yacht race was a grueling, open-ocean, rich man’s club. But in the late ‘80’s, a young woman decided she was going to put an all-female crew and change all that. “Maiden” is the “stand up and cheer” saga of her improbable journey from cook to captain and across the finish line.

The Document will screen “Maiden” for KCRW members on Wednesday, June 12th in Beverly Hills followed by a Q&A with captain Tracy Edwards and “Maiden” director Alex Holmes.
