SHIRKERS

In the early ‘90’s…a teenage film geek and her friends in Singapore shot a movie called “Shirkers,” which should have been the island country‘s first cult classic. But then their adult collaborator absconded with the footage. Many years later, it turned up – and the footage and the whole story have been turned into a weird, wonderful and wildly inventive documentary.

The Document will screen “Shirkers” for KCRW members on Monday, October 15th in Beverly Hills. Doors open at 6:30pm for food trucks and complimentary wine; movie begins at 8:00pm and Q&A afterwards with filmmaker Sandi Tan.
