Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Legacy and the Supreme Court’s Future

RSVP

September 24, 2020 • 5:00 pm PDT

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a profound impact on American law and life. Her early work as an advocate for gender equality and later her opinions on the Supreme Court changed the shape and face of our country.

This special Hammer Forum considers some of the late Justice’s most significant contributions to our society as well as the upcoming battle over her now-vacant Supreme Court seat. Will the GOP succeed in replacing Ginsburg before the election? What would it mean to expand the Supreme Court? The future of the Supreme Court now becomes one of the most pressing issues leading up to November’s election. Loyola Law School professor Jessica Levinson moderates a panel including former US Senator from California Barbara Boxer, Pulitzer Prize–winning Supreme Court reporter Linda Greenhouse, and journalist Kimberly Atkins, MSNBC contributor and senior opinion writer at the Boston Globe.
