Protect My Public Media Day

Today is Protect My Public Media Day — a national day of action to celebrate and defend public media.

Public media stations, including KCRW, are among the few remaining locally operated media organizations. As part of the nationwide NPR network, we are dedicated to strengthening our communities through independent reporting, emergency coverage, and bringing people together.

Federal funding and support are foundational to public media, and represent about 5% of KCRW’s annual budget. There are strong signals coming out of Washington, D.C. that the future of public media will be at stake over the coming months.
