Pedro Pedro at The Hole

Free

Pedro Pedro brings vibrant cornucopias of fruit, seafood, desserts, flowers, art supplies, and everyday domestic objects to each painting in his third and largest solo exhibition with The Hole. Textile paint on unprimed linen creates a soft focus in the colorful and vibrant paintings: Technicolor grapes, a beaming red lobster, and glowing pink pomegranate seeds dazzle the eye.

In these paintings of plenty, the artist plays with expectations. Familiar charcuterie boards and dessert tables are juxtaposed with more imaginative, chaotic scenes that display haphazard spreads of paint supplies, a loose yellow Croc, half-finished beverages, and scattered slices of fruit. Pedro sets each table with fanciful still lifes that inspire daydreams about memorable meals and treasured objects.
