Mario Padilla

Santa Monica College presents Mario René Padilla, a poet and author of Italian and Mexican descent. His work involves themes of multiculturalism and cultural identity, and his poems and stories have appeared in a plethora of publications. His second collection of poems, “Blue Plums and Weeds,” was a finalist for several literary prizes, and was published in December 2020 by PSPoets in Los Angeles. Padilla teaches English, Creative Writing, and Latin-American Literature at Santa Monica College.
