Made to Move 5 Year Anniversary
September 24, 2023 • 3:00 pm PDT
Made to Move is turning five! Five years of fun. Five years of top notch selectors. Made to Move is grateful for the past five years: for every friend, dancer, and member of the community who has made Made to Move what it is today.
Made to Move has cooked up something special on Aug 20th at the Broken Shaker, a rooftop poolside venue! Alexis Curshé (Atlanta), Escaflowne (New York), and Josh Peace (Los Angeles) will be on the decks, celebrating five years with a day party of dancing with friends and dipping in the pool.
Alexis Curshé has immersed herself in underground scenes around the U.S. and the world and has developed a euphoric, ultra-percussive and sexy sound that ranges from techno to soulful house with a recent release on Nervous Records.
Escaflowne, Bay Area-born and New York-based Producer and DJ, will make his L.A. debut at Made to Move. With releases on JukeBouceWerk, Sorry Records, Haus of Altr, Fixed Rhythms, and more and a deep archive of mixes from Lot Radio, Nowadays Nonstop, and Looseys this is a set Los Angeles can not miss.
Josh Peace is the Made to Move local pick on this lineup. Josh is an L.A. native and has been active within and shaped the local underground house and queer nightlife scenes since the mid 90’s. His undying dedication to making people move and ability to traverse through multiple genres is evident when he is behind the decks.
Co-founders, Akumen and Andy Oro, will also join the lineup with a B2B set celebrating their favorite tracks from this last year which will include music coming out of Los Angeles, classic house and techno, and underground music from around the world.
Celebrate five years of Made to Move at the Broken Shaker on Sunday, September 24 – moving bodies, moving hearts and moving together!
