Kids want guidance when it comes to navigating sexuality and gender. But those conversations often bring up feelings of embarrassment and avoidance for all parties involved. As adults, it’s our job to create an open and honest space where kids and teens feel comfortable learning more about their bodies.

Join Bodies podcast host Allison Behringer and educators Shafia Zaloom and Nadine Thornhill to hear how they approach sex education. Their work goes beyond the basics of human anatomy and pregnancy. It’s about cultivating healthy relationships, understanding consent, gender socialization, power dynamics and pleasure. We’ll also be joined by San Francisco teen Elizabeth Edwards, who will share her experience taking Shafia’s course in love and romantic relationships.

This event is free with registration, with optional donations. A donation of $30 or more will enroll you in KCRW’s Fringe Benefits membership level (normally available at the $60 level and above)!
