Catch Steady Holiday in the courtyard on July 13th with KCRW DJs Nassir Nassirzadeh and Novena Carmel serving up vibes. A happy hour with cash bar starts at 6:30 PM, so come early and visit the Hammer’s galleries, which will be open until 9:00 PM featuring Together in Time: Selections from the Hammer Contemporary Collection.

Steady Holiday is the solo vehicle for Los Angeles singer-songwriter Dre Babinski’s deeply personal and cinematic storytelling. Characterized by her featherlight voice and sweeping strings (played by Babinski herself), Steady Holiday elegantly sways between plainspoken and profound. Babinski just released her 4th album, Newfound Oxygen, a clear-eyed reckoning with the hard lessons of growing up and living sustainably. The directness of both Babinski’s songwriting and production by Ari Balouzian (Gabriels, Midnight Sister) compliment the album’s ethos of taking a breath and staying grounded in reality.

Please RSVP for updates. Note: RSVP does not guarantee entry

Let us know you’re coming and we’ll send you all the details before the event!

ABOUT THE HAMMER
The Hammer Museum is part of the School of the Arts and Architecture at UCLA, and offers exhibitions and collections that span classic to contemporary art. It holds more than 50,000 works in its collection, including one of the finest collections of works on paper in the nation, the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts. Through a wide-ranging, international exhibition program and the biennial, Made in L.A., the Hammer highlights contemporary art since the 1960s, especially the work of emerging and under-recognized artists. The exhibitions, permanent collections, and nearly 300 public programs annually—including film screenings, lectures, symposia, readings, music performances, and workshops for families—are all free to the public.

Together in Time: Selections from the Hammer Contemporary Collection
Presented in conjunction with the unveiling of the Hammer’s building expansion, this exhibition is the largest presentation of the Hammer Contemporary Collection in the museum’s history. Occupying nearly all gallery spaces, Together in Time highlights works in a wide range of media by Los Angeles-based and international artists, including Njidecka Akunyili Crosby, Mark Bradford, Laura Owens, Kerry Tribe, and many more.
