Catch Rogê radiating “the sun-kissed joy of West Coast living” on the courtyard on July 6th with KCRW DJs Wyldeflower and LeRoy Downs serving up vibes. A happy hour with cash bar starts at 6:30 PM, so come early and visit the Hammer’s galleries, which will be open until 9:00 PM featuring Together in Time: Selections from the Hammer Contemporary Collection.

One of Rio de Janeiro’s most exciting singer-songwriters of the last 15 years is now living in Los Angeles, where he stands on the verge of an American breakthrough. Before the move, Latin Grammy nominee Rogê (pronounced haw-zheh) was prominently at the center of Rio’s nightlife. Charismatic and scruffy, with a distinctively raspy yet boyish voice, Rogê gained an avid following for his swinging samba-funk/ Brazilian Soul. He co-wrote the theme song for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil and his first American-made album, “Curyman”, came out this year!

Please RSVP for updates. Note: RSVP does not guarantee entry

ABOUT THE HAMMER
The Hammer Museum is part of the School of the Arts and Architecture at UCLA, and offers exhibitions and collections that span classic to contemporary art. It holds more than 50,000 works in its collection, including one of the finest collections of works on paper in the nation, the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts. Through a wide-ranging, international exhibition program and the biennial, Made in L.A., the Hammer highlights contemporary art since the 1960s, especially the work of emerging and under-recognized artists. The exhibitions, permanent collections, and nearly 300 public programs annually—including film screenings, lectures, symposia, readings, music performances, and workshops for families—are all free to the public.

Together in Time: Selections from the Hammer Contemporary Collection
Presented in conjunction with the unveiling of the Hammer’s building expansion, this exhibition is the largest presentation of the Hammer Contemporary Collection in the museum’s history. Occupying nearly all gallery spaces, Together in Time highlights works in a wide range of media by Los Angeles-based and international artists, including Njidecka Akunyili Crosby, Mark Bradford, Laura Owens, Kerry Tribe, and many more.
