KCRW DJ Boogie Boudreaux is no stranger to Gold-Diggers and after 2 years rocking the decks for her electrifying BOOGIE DOWN late night party, she’s excited to present a summer celebration featuring two California psych rock bands + a classic BOOGIE DOWN DJ set after the show! And since it’s the weekend of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s Hollywood Bowl show on Sunday night, she’s gonna be spinning all Gizz records at doors and in between the shows.

Desert Friends are bringing the psychedelic magic of the high desert to Gold-Diggers for their LA debut! Based in Joshua Tree, Desert Friends is the collaboration between Antrom Alexander and Lucas Penner with Cody Rhodes on drums, John Ryan on bass and Kyle Hanson on percussion. Desert Friends’ sound features flavors of Khruangbin, Hermanos Gutiérrez and Arc De Soleil, mixing elements of surf, middle-eastern and spaghetti western.

The Noir Dalis are a psych rock quartet from Los Angeles drawing inspiration from influential acts such as Spacemen 3, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Love and Rockets. As the name suggests, The Noir Dalis sound consists of beautiful, floral sonic soundscapes with an overall dark, ominous tone. Beginning as a personal project by Carlos Bojorquez in 2018, the Noir Dalis have evolved past their garage/psych influences into a stylistic collision of all its parts made possible by the collective minds of Carlos, Jaime Rosas, Lorena Ochoa, and Jose Tapia.

After the show, we’ll light up the disco ball and bounce in the cosmic vibrations of Rock! Funk! Soul! Disco! House!

And as always with a BOOGIE DOWN night, the club will be lit up with psychedelic visuals from Electron Disruption + Moirebender teaming up!
