Kazuo Ishiguro – In Conversation

Buy Tickets

March 10, 2021 • 12:00 pm PST

The Skirball presents contemporary novelist Kazuo Ishiguro, author of The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go. His latest book, the highly anticipated Klara and the Sun, is his first since winning the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017.

This thought-provoking dystopian novel is told from the perspective of Klara, an artificial friend designed to be a child’s companion. In conversation with Emmy-nominated screenwriter and Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy, Ishiguro discusses the implications of artificial intelligence and the fundamental question of what it means to love.

To attend this virtual talk with Nobel Laureate Kazuo Ishiguro, the purchase of a copy of Klara and the Sun from Skylight Books is required. Those who have purchased the book from Skylight will receive an email from Writers Bloc at least thirty minutes prior to the event with a unique link to access the March 10 virtual talk. The first 250 people to purchase the book will receive a signed bookplate.
