We all know that the awards for our jazz community are given out during the day and are never televised for the world to see.
Just Jazz wants to shine the light on our genre by celebrating Grammy Nominees, Grammy Award winners, our jazz musicians, students, and our entire community of jazz.
We are honoring two giants in our jazz community who have made indelible marks on the jazz world at large with their creative contributions: multi-instrumentalist Bennie Maupin & performance poet, educator, and community activist, Kamau Daaoud.
On Sunday, February 4, 2024, starting at 5 PM:
- 4:00p – Doors Open
- 5:00p – Grammy Watch Party w/ open bar, a la carte dining / LeRoy DJ Set
- 8:00p – Red Carpet Arrivals – w/ open bar + hors d’oeuvres for VIP guests/ LeRoy Downs Interviews
- 8:15p – Just Jazz salute to our guests of honor Kamau Daaood & Bennie Maupin.
- 8:30p – After Party Concert + Jam feat. The Daniel Harris Group + Special Guests
