Juneteenth – Freedom Day Celebration

The San Gabriel Valley has long been facing health inequities in the Black community. Specifically, African American/Black infant and maternal health is a concern in that public health statistics show a disparity in low-birth weight and pre-term births. Toxic stress is part of the problem, along with institutionalized racism and implicit bias as the root causes. 

Join the Therapeutic Play Foundation, San Gabriel Valley African American Infant and Maternal Mortality (AAIMM) Community Action Team and the Black Mental Health Task Force in convening to celebrate freedom, bring awareness of the history behind this special day and unite on this Juneteenth.
