IDA Documentary Screening Series presents ‘Some Kind of Heaven’
November 18, 2020 • 6:00 pm PST
The International Documentary Association (IDA) is bringing together both films and their creators to industry insiders and film enthusiasts from October to January. This year’s Screening Series takes place online and is accessible from anywhere in the world. Films are available on demand for IDA members exclusively. Post-film conversation live streams with filmmakers and subjects are open to the public for FREE.
SOME KIND OF HEAVEN explores life inside the palm-tree-lined streets of The Villages, America’s largest retirement community in Florida. By turns biting, tender, and surreal, the film demonstrates that no matter our age, we are always becoming. With strikingly composed cinematography, Some Kind of Heaven challenges our stereotypes around aging, emboldening its characters to live as vibrantly as possible in the time they have left.
Join Director/Producer Lance Oppenheim for a digital conversation moderated by Anne Thompson, Editor at Large at IndieWire. Closed-captioned and ASL interpreted.
