Online

The International Documentary Association (IDA) is bringing together both films and their creators to industry insiders and film enthusiasts from October to January. This year’s Screening Series takes place online and is accessible from anywhere in the world. Films are available on demand for IDA members exclusively. Post-film conversation live streams with filmmakers and subjects are open to the public for FREE.

Using interviews and rare archival footage, JOHN LEWIS: GOOD TROUBLE chronicles John Robert Lewis’ 60-plus years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health-care reform and immigration. Using present-day interviews with Lewis, Porter explores his childhood experiences, his inspiring family and his fateful meeting with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1957. Porter’s primarily cinéma verité film also includes interviews with political leaders, Congressional colleagues, and other people who figure prominently in his life.

Join Director Dawn Porter in honoring John Lewis’ legacy. This digital conversation is moderated by Jazz Tangcay, Lead Writer at Variety. Closed-captioned and ASL interpreted.
