Hale County This Morning, This Evening is a documentary, but it’s really more of poem; it’s like a memory of a trip back home to the rural south to hang out with friends and neighbors you never knew you had. It’s also a movie about race, and poverty and hope and…everything. It’s no surprise it made the Oscar shortlist this year.

The Document will screen “Hale County This Morning, This Evening” for KCRW members on Wednesday January 9th in Beverly Hills. Doors open at 6:30pm for food trucks and complimentary wine; movie begins at 8:00pm and Q&A afterwards with filmmaker RaMell Ross.
