Colm Tóibín: House of Names

Best-selling author Colm Tóibín reads from his new book House of Names, a powerful retelling of the myth of Clytemnestra, and explores the influence of Greek culture and literature on Irish writers Oscar Wilde, W.B. Yeats, and James Joyce, as well as on his own work. His talk will be followed by questions from the audience and book signing.
About Colm Tóibín
Colm Tóibín is the author of seven novels, including The Master, winner of the Los Angeles Times Book Prize; Brooklyn, winner of the Costa Book Award; The Testament of Mary, and Nora Webster, as well as two story collections. Three times shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, Tóibín lives in Dublin and New York.
Planning your visit
The Getty Villa and its galleries are open to the general public from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. With your program ticket, you may arrive up to one hour prior to the start time of the program. For earlier arrival, a separate general admission ticket is recommended. The auditorium opens at 1:30 p.m. and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Café is open for lunch service from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and the Getty Store is open until 5:00 p.m. Please note that some galleries are currently closed as we reinstall the collection in a new presentation.
