City of STEM Festival and LA Maker Faire

Free

On  April 1, LA’s largest celebration of science, creativity, invention and fun will be free and open to the public with hands-on activities, amazing experiences, and an appearance by Bill Nye, the Science Guy. City of STEM, LA‘s biggest festival of science, technology, engineering and math, and the Los Angeles Maker Faire, the region’s largest gathering of creative thinkers and doers, will both be taking place at the same time and the same place, for one huge all-day extravaganza. The Los Angeles Public Library and the Columbia Memorial Space Center have joined to bring these two major events together for the public to interact with over 200 exhibits highlighting organizations and innovators – including scientists, engineers, artists, major museums, NASA, and tech companies – who will showcase hands-on activities and unique experiences for the adults, teens, and kids.

The event will include expert panel discussions, workshops and a center stage featuring Bill Nye, surprise special guests, live music, and exciting science demonstrations. Reflecting the diversity of the LA region and promoting access to all, the event will also include content in Spanish.
