Wonder Valley Experimental Festival / Phogust 2

Phogust is a presentation of an array of cutting edge experimental sound practitioners from the greater Los Angeles area.  Instrument Manufacturers, Synthesists and Sonic Explorers will converge on Angels Gate Cultural Center to revel in the beauty of sound as pure texture.

Circuit Bending is the practice of exposing the circuitry of a sonic device, such as a toy or a musical instrument, then tampering with that circuit to cause the device to produce interesting sounds that the designers never intended. Performers assemble a collection of bent devices and then perform music with them.

Appropriated sounds are instruments created from common objects that are re-purposed to perform music.

Phogust2 continues the deep dive into Los Angeles thriving experimental community, Presenting a diverse group of performers that have ties to the LA scene.
