Join International Documentary Association’s Getting Real ‘18 and True/False Film Fest for the LA edition of Gimme Truth! The event is open to the public. Hosted by comedian Brian Babylon (NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!), America’s favorite (and only) documentary game show challenges the audience and a panel of esteemed celebrity judges to determine truthiness. The game show is a hilarious mashup of filmmaking and investigation, where non-professional filmmakers attempt to fool seasoned directors by presenting their totally true or totally false two-minute docs that feature an oddball character local to the Los Angeles area. At its loftiest, Gimme Truth! is as much game show as a contemplation on the veracity of images (especially nonfiction ones), but really, it’s just a raucous good time.
