Chaplin’s The Gold Rush in 35mm

Retroformat Silent Films is proud to team with the America Legion Post 43 to present their most exciting event to date — Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece The Gold Rush, presented in 35mm with live musical accompaniment by Cliff Retallick, with a special introduction by legendary filmmaker Allison Anders, at Hollywood’s stunning new venue: The American Legion Theater on Highland Avenue (just below the Hollywood Bowl!).

For this one-of-a-kind screening, the Chaplin Office has waived their usual requirement that the film be accompanied by recorded music, giving Retroformat’s resident Musical Director Cliff Retallick permission to improvise a live, grand piano score!
