The 2019 IDA Documentary Screening Series brings this year’s most acclaimed documentaries to industry insiders and film lovers as a series of curated film screenings through the fall season! Join in on a screening of the powerful ‘5B’ on Tuesday 9/17 at the Landmark Theater at 7:30PM.

5B is the story of everyday heroes, nurses and caregivers who took extraordinary action to care for the patients of the first AIDS ward unit in the United States. ‘5B’ is told through first-person testimony of the caregivers who built Ward 5B in 1983 at San Francisco General Hospital, their patients, loved ones, and staff who volunteered to create care practices based on humanity and holistic well-being during a time of great uncertainty.

The screening will be followed by a moderated post-film discussion with director Dan Krauss and original 5B subject, Hank Plante, plus a reception in the Landmark Wine Bar.
