In this year’s CalArts Center for Experiments in Art, Information and
Technology (CEAIT) Festival offers two nights of avant-garde techno
music-makers, Bonnie Jones' “no-input” style of sound-text performances
make use of internal feedback mixers, cracked delay pedals, and hacked
electronics in ways that manufacturers would never recommend; while
Keith Fullerton Whitman’s masterful electronica generates “shimmering
drones and deep waves of sound,” together with improvised guitar.
